What a legendary line-up of authors and films! I jotted down so many recommendations, my family will love me this year 😂💖💖💖 Thank you so much for including me, Alex & the generous intro.
I don’t think there’s a Hollywood film with a greater gap between its artistic achievement and public appreciation of it. It ought to be one of the three or four or five most beloved Christmas films, and I’m going to blame sleep deprivation for my my memory loss about it this year. But your piece was a welcome reminder that you’re here now, doing this important job.
What a list! All fun recommendations! I can't wait to watch or rewatch some of them. Since it's a party, I'm bringing something to add to this great menu... The french comedy "Santa Claus is a Stinker" ("Le père noël est une ordure" Dir: Jean-Marie Poiré -1982)
Great list and was unfamiliar with a couple of these. I saw the Juliet Lewis pic and immediately thought Mixed Nuts before realizing it was Strange Days!
@fromtheyardtothearthouse I was very close to picking KKBB! Glad to see it on the list!
A very Shane Black Christmas

Thank you, Sophie!
What an awesome list. Glad to see I'm not the only who has always considered The Apartment a Christmas movie.
I would never have thought of it myself, but any excuse to revisit the Apartment is a good one
Dang, how the hell did I forget Shop Around The Corner? It’s one of my favorite films. I’m glad Sophie remembered it!
it's such a fave!!!

Love this and the Strange Days recommendation especially. That film is a surprising fit for the Holidays.
May I add Cover Up, the 1949 Christmas noir?

Good call!
Honored to be in elite company for this one! (I just downloaded Austin's audiobook trilogy. Can't wait to dive into that.)
What a wonderful list! Honoured to be included!
Honored (inferior American spelling) to have you, Ed

Mixed Nuts, that's an interesting one
Definitely..a fascinating mess with a stellar cast. I kinda low key love it.
Fantastic list of films. Thanks for letting me rave about my favorite Christmas film!
You're always welcome to rave here, Cole.
